Here’s a look at preview pencils for the opening sequence in The Kid Knight. This shows the battle between Arthur and Camlann which sets the stage for the rest of the story. The second image shows the initial rough sketch. Click each image for a larger view.

This was an early version of The Kid Knight’s armor and the villain’s overall look as well. The thinking at the time was that the villain’s armor was more organic and grown – like a crab shell. I dropped that pretty quickly.
